Fri, March 19, 2004 - 1:35 PMAmber, check out your local chapter of the Ninety-Nines! There is also Women in Aviation International. I don't know the URL's offhand, but you can google them. Best to start with the Ninety-Nines as they have a special program for aspiring women pilots- as well as lots of support. There are organization scholarships and, often, chapter scholarships. If you're interested at all, definitely check them out. Aviation could ALWAYS use more women in my opinion! Best of luck to you!

Tue, May 17, 2005 - 3:55 PMalso, Sallie Mae has loans for flight training. they must be applied for through a flight school, or some kind of aviation school. Ask around at your local airport and see who is associated with SM (they're the studen loan people). it's very cool... you have to pay it back, but you can stretch it out over 15 years... if you get more interested, you can earn your Private License, your instrument rating, your commercial rating and your flight instructors rating (CFI)... then you can make money at it to pay back the loans.
pretty cool.
What airport is close to you?
